John 21

12Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord. 13Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

This must have been so crazy. For Jesus to have died; been raised and then for him to randomly appear to the disciples. I am sure they kept thinking "when is he doing to do it again"....and it's interesting to me that he appeared early in the morning. It seems like Jesus was a morning person- Maybe he was just trying to avoid a crowd, but Jesus does decide to do it then- and then he provides breakfast! How cool is that. They were probably hungry and fishing wasn't going great and all of sudden they have a ton of fish, bread and coals to cook them on. Christ knew the importance of meals- of relishing time with friends- around a meal. I think we often forget this and get really busy and forget about hospitality. Some of our greatest blessings have been when we invited people over for dinner. May God continue to give me the grace to do this.
